Frequently Asked Questions

Tap Begin Your Journey on the welcome screen. Choose your genre, narrator voice, and name — then tap Start New Story from the Story Hub. Your narrator will begin immediately.

  • Make sure your device volume is turned up and silent mode is off.
  • On iPhone, toggle the physical mute switch (left side of device) to the off position.
  • Tap anywhere on the story screen first — browsers require a user gesture before playing audio.
  • Check that you haven't blocked audio autoplay in your browser settings.

Talenarrator needs microphone permission. If you see a permission prompt, tap Allow. To re-enable it:

  • iOS Safari: Settings → Safari → Microphone → Allow.
  • Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar → Microphone → Allow.
  • Firefox: Click the microphone icon in the address bar and allow.

This is usually caused by a brief internet interruption or the browser's speech recognition going idle. Try these steps:

  • Check your internet connection — Talenarrator streams narration in real time.
  • Tap the microphone button to manually resume listening.
  • Reload the page and tap Continue Story from the Hub — your progress is saved automatically.

Yes. From the Story Hub, tap the Settings icon (top-right corner) to update your narrator voice, preferred genre, or display name at any time. Changes take effect on your next story session.

Talenarrator automatically saves your last story. From the Story Hub you'll see a Continue Story card if a previous session exists. Tap it to resume exactly where you left off, including the full conversation history.

Yes. Your voice is processed locally in your browser and is never stored on our servers. Story history and your profile live only on your device in local storage. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Yes — Talenarrator is built with iOS and WKWebView in mind. It works in Safari on iPhone and iPad. For the best experience, use Safari on iOS 16 or later. Chrome and Firefox on iOS also work but may have limited speech recognition support.
